Fig Tree Joe

Fig tree Joe an Arapaho,
A man I'll never know.
Lived in a desert so subtle,
With just his tree that grows,
A fruit so lithe and supple,
Only he and god could know.

Fig tree Joe, an Arapaho,
A man I'll never know.
He came to speak of wisdom
That on his fig tree grows;
For no ears there to listen,
His wisdom I'll never know.

Fig tree Joe, an Arapaho,
A man I'll never know.
He came to me whilst dreaming,
And as the cock did crow,
I awoke to see him leaving,
No memories there to show.

Fig tree Joe, an Arapaho,
A man I'll never know.
His message lost to weather,
For the seeds will never grow,
And I'll remain forever,
Lost to what he knows.
